Australia?

wheres the best place to go in australia?

me and my m8s have decided it has to be done within the next two years so the save is on.
enough of the scum that hang around birmingham. - anyone see the riots on tv? . anyway.

we're gonna be going backpacking for a month, probably on the east coast it looks like- unless any people have any big no no's.

please bear in mind that we're humble bodyboarders -not hardened surfers and we're not pretending to be, just want to go where its warm and have a good time. (we might be persuaded to learn before we go though.- if uit means missing out on anything of course

any info appreciated. thanks ppl!

Head for Sindney then see what happens. the best way to travel.. oh and make it a year, u wont regret it, otherwise it will fly past and you wont get time to do everything u wanted to.
Also unlike a dipstick friend of mine, remember there summer is in our winter.

right. it has been decided. its going to be about 3-4 months. all along the east cost. starting at the top, the barrier reef and working our way down. the uni course can wait, cos i have 5 years to pick it up again if i leave- Result!

we are going to try and get there for this time next year, but it all depends on how much we each have saved cos we've decided not to rush it. it has to be done peoperly.

am dead excited already and havent even started to save properly .

hi peeps

was just wondering for the people who have been- how much did you take with you?

we are planning to get our tickets (700ish) and then have about 2.5 grand each, and work our way around. is this a reasonable amount?

we are going to be saving like crazy, but after buying stuff (quality camera for one ) boots and rucksck etc. we estimated thats what we'll be left with each, give or take.

any help greatfully recieved

ok, heres the plan.

land in sydney- get a job to work off the tickets to get there.

600 quid open return!! OH YES. COME ON!
go north to brisbane, do more work, bar/cafe jobs, and sleep where we lie etc.
thats 2 1/2 months easy.

go north even more.
bondi beach, great barrier reef and lots and lots of sun and surf
cut across the top of queensland, to the northern territory, straight to the national park.
then south to alice springs and Ayres rock, or 'uluru' (cant wait for this one )
go to perth. get some more crappy work to pay for the cross country jaunt thats just incurred, and should take about 2 weeks- 3 tops.
acros nullarbor plain- , my faourite bit, the worlds longest straight, and also a 3 day train journey - thats if we havent got car/4x4/camper. which we hopefully will, ut its all more money .
around to adelaide, work work work once again.
down into Victoria, and melbourne.
this wil be where we depart to n/z if it happens (not sure yet)
othewise its onto canberra for a final month or so

than depart from sydney back to good 'ol heathrow in july 2008

well thats it, the plans for now. a shedload of cash and a 12 or so month trip

after stopping a month or so in each big city and workng some min wage crap, we should e well ready to come home to good 'ol england i'd think.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH!!

mojo..try not to get bitten by a funnel web spider mate. you can die in 15 minutes. or don't get stung by a box jellyfish..same old story oh, and also watch out for the snakes..
