Surf veterans lose to 'rookies'
The Australian
'Australia's two wily veterans of the surfing world tour, Mark Occhilupo and Luke Egan, both succumbed to rookies in the first round of the Globe WCT Fiji today.

The Gold Coast pair, who had both previously won this contest, could not find any rhythm in the tricky and often inconsistent 1.5m waves at Cloudbreak losing to Brazilian Paulo Moura and tour debutant South African Travis Logie respectively.

It was a poor day all round for Australian surfers with the Gold Coast's Dean Morrison the only heat winner, while Jake Paterson, Daniel Wills, Lee Winkler and Bede Durbidge joined Occy and Egan in being relegated to tomorrow's second round...'
