Longboard rider Osborne surfs with 'bliss and courage'

'On the surface, Mary Osborne looks like a prototypical 21st Century Southern California surfer/model.
But don't let the 27-year-old's good looks, sun-bleached hair and athletic build fool you because she's old school.
While the other surfers at Ventura Beach are carving tight little skateboard moves on the waves with lightweight, 6- to 8-foot shortboards, Osborne is perched on the rounded nose of her 12-foot longboard, the toes of her right foot curled on the leading edge as she rides the Rincon Break.
