  :: PORTHMEOR BEACH ::

Situated at the northern end of St. Ives this beach break is well exposed to any swells going and is sheltered from SW winds. It has shifting peaks and a good right close to the rocks on the eastern end. Works at all tide stages. Good for beginners in a smaller surf but watch out for a rip on a bigger days when it is very popular with locals. Gets busy at high season.

There is a small car park above the beach but it is bound to be busy so try to find an alternative parking space and walk to the beach. St. Ives roads get pretty busy in July/August.

  • High season: Lifeguards, beach bar and cafe and surf hire. Toilets are situated in a car park.
  • All year: As it is situated in St. Ives there are plenty of shops, bars, pubs, restaurants and surf shops that hire equipment.
