:: PUTSBOROUGH BEACH ::

Putsborough beach is situated on the southern end of Woolacombe Sand - a couple of miles of sandy beachbreak heaven, with Woolacombe being on the northern end. It works at all tide stages but mid to high tend to have an edge. It is the only beach in the area that benefits from some protection from the South/Southwesterly winds, thanks to Baggy Point headland. Peaks are scattered all along its length so take your pick and enjoy. It has a fairly slow waves which are suitable for beginners.

From Croyde, follow signs for Putsborough, through narrow, often single lane twisty country road, so watch your speed.
From Woolacombe, take the road to Croyde, which will have a sign for Putsborough. You can park in a small beach car park by the caravan site (pay in high season), or in the car park which runs along and above the beach and is accessible from Woolacombe by following a road which runs parallel to the beach. After passing coach parking lot on the left, watch out for a sign to the car park just as you pass toilets on the right (pay in high season).
