North of Newquay, Bude is largest 'surf city' which is visited by high number of surfers throughout the year so Summerleaze beach gets very crowded in high season. It is a sheltered beach break north of the river mouth. Works through all tide stages and is suitable for beginners.
From A39 take A3072 to Bude from where you will have no problem finding a beach car park as it is well signposted.
High season: Lifeguards and beach bar.
All year: Showers, car park at the beach, toilets with baby changing facilities. Town itself has numerous surf shops with surf hire, surf schools, pubs, restaurants...
